Making Training Matter: How Leadership Can Elevate Learning Outcomes

Facilitated by Jeannie Frazier, Learning Jeannie

Leadership at all levels plays a critical role in ensuring training translates into meaningful and sustained performance improvement. Their involvement at every stage in the training process - before, during, and after - is essential for maximizing its impact. The intent of this session is for learning and development leaders and practitioners to learn more about the importance of leveraging leaders throughout all stages of training by exploring:

  • Leadership's critical role in learning
  • Challenges with involving leaders
  • How to prepare and educate leaders on the formal training that involves their teams
  • How to improve leaders' involvement in training application, reinforcement, and sustainment

As a result of attending this presentation, you will be able to:

  • Use an impactful tool that demonstrates the Leaders’ critical role in training
  • Leverage best practices shared from the research and other attendees on how best to overcome the lack of engagement with leaders in training
  • Provide a format for leaders to use when having pre-training meetings with their direct reports
  • Put into practice the ideas and insights on how to keep leaders engaged after the formal training has concluded
