Managing a Thriving, Flexible Work Environment
Facilitated by Jeannie Frazier, FranklinCovey
During the past two months, Omaha’s ODN learned more about “Engaging Remote Employees” and “Trust in the Workplace”. August’s presentation will build off those two past topics and will focus on managing flexible work environments. According to FlexJobs’ 2018 survey of over 3,000 professionals, the number of people who say they have quit a job due to lack of flexibility has nearly doubled from 17% in 2014 to 32% in 2017. Flexible work environments have grown in importance as more and more people are demanding a work-life balance.
Please join your peers in this engaging, interactive presentation where you will learn more about the research, statistics, advantages, and best practices of implementing and managing a flexible work environment. Attendees will walk away with immediate ideas and actions to take back to their respective organizations to ensure flexible work environments are successful in their companies.
In this interactive session, participants will learn about the various options of a flexible work environment. Each will learn the advantages and disadvantages that flexible work environments bring to both the employee and the employer. Participants will also learn about the key components necessary to manage this type of environment: training, trust, expectation setting, communication, and evaluation. Finally, specific case study examples will be shared about organizations who have successfully increased employee retention and engagement through flexible work environments.
