Trust in the Workplace

In a recent Glassdoor.com article, the multiple benefits and perks that employees are looking for in their respective workplaces was shared by generation; things like flexibility for millennials, career progression for Gen X-ers’ and retirement planning for Baby Boomers. The common thread across these 50 years of desired benefits is the requirement for a manager to demonstrate trust to provide them to their team. Whether supporting a manager with a remote employee to engage a millennial employee or supporting an organization with a phased retirement plan in which an employee trusts participating, the need for HR/OD to coach demonstrate-able trust from our leaders has never been more important.
In this interactive session, participants will identify a tangible workplace definition for the word trust, as well as discuss how a foundation of trust builds an employee experience of accountability and empowerment. In addition, participants will leave with phrases for success that provide examples of what managers, employees and HR can say to foster trust in their organization.
