Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Learnings

Facilitated by Carol Brush with our panel; Joe Gerstandt, Bianca Harley

and Katherine MacHolmes

We will get feedback and learnings from the panel around:

  1. What role does DEI play in talent strategy?
  2. What is the most difficult part of implementing a DEI program?  Share examples or work you have done in this area.
  3. What recommendations do you have for OD professionals to help drive and sustain diversity, equity and inclusion in organizations?

Joe is a keynote speaker, author and presenter bringing greater clarity and new practices to diversity and inclusion work. He brings his unique perspectives and trademark energy to keynote at conferences nationwide and facilitates training workshops for corporate and professional groups. He works with Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, government entities and everything in between.

Bianca - After a 2017 survey by the Greater Omaha Chamber resulted in the recommendation of a full-time diversity and inclusion representative as part of its economic development strategy and outcomes, Harley was appointed to the role.  With focuses on two aspects of diversity and inclusion: workplace and community, Bianca oversees initiatives aimed to develop and attract diverse professionals, working closely with business leaders, officials and others to assess diversity efforts and engage businesses in its importance.

Katherine is a native North Omahan, born and raised.  A graduate of Benson High School, a community theater artist, writer and lifelong activist and advocate, Katherine is the co-founder of an antioppression, equity and justice strategy firm, k+r strategies. Incredibly passionate about liberation, community healing and art, she finds that collective community processes are the closest form of liberation that we can achieve in imperfect systems.
